Royalty
The Netherlands is a constitutional monarchy. Queen Beatrix has been the Head of State of the Kingdom of the Netherlands since 1980. At the beginning of the 20th century the existence of the monarchy was hanging by a silk thread. But with the four daughters of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard (Beatrix, Irene, Margriet and Christina) the Royal Family has expanded over the years. There are now fourteen grandchildren to Juliana and Bernhard and twenty legal great grandchildren.
The most featured persons in this library are Queen Beatrix (as a young woman and as Head of State), Princess and Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard, Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima.
