Devastation and flooding in Walcheren
Overview of the situation on Walcheren five months after the end of World War II. The island is still largely under water after the attack on the levees by the British Air Force in October 1944. A cruise through the flooded area shows the damage. Using amongst others military amphibious "DUKW's" connections are maintained. Work is underway to close the holes in the dikes.
