Where can I change the language of Dutchfootage.com?
Dutchfootage.com is published in two languages: English and Dutch. The website starts in English. In case you wish to change the language: a button is available in the absolute upper right-hand corner of the page.
Finding footage
How can I search for footage?
You can enter a search term in the search box and the website will check if there is an item available with this search term.
Is there an advanced search?
No, there is no advanced search. Using the refinement tools on the left-hand side of the page you get closer to the result of your wishes.
What if I can’t find what I’m looking for?
Even though we have over 700,000 hours in our archive we were not able to clip these into small pieces and publish them on this website.

Are there researchers available to help me find what I’m looking for?
Yes, if you contact our Customer Service department by sending an email to: sales@beeldengeluid.nl or by calling + 31 35 777 8035 someone will be appointed to you who will help you with your request.
Are there costs involved when a researcher helps me find my footage?
When you can find what you’re looking for on this website then the price is as you pay it. In case a researcher is needed to help you find something that is not online on Dutchfootage.com a research fee will be added to your bill.
What kind of resolution-files do you offer?
For viewing purposes we offer on the website Flash and Quicktime. In case you wish to test a found image in your edit you can download a free comp file. This is a Quicktime file of the selected image containing a watermark.
For high-res end-use purposes we offer a 20mbit MPEG2 file in PAL as well as NTSC.
For low-res end-use purposes we offer a WMV and Flash file without watermark.
Do I need to register to search for footage?
No, when you’re just looking and searching for footage you don’t need to register yet. Only when you want to purchase a file then it will be needed to register.
Registration
How do I register on Dutchfootage.com?
In the right-hand upper corner you can find a button register/sign in. In case you’re already a user you can sign in with the chosen username and password.
In case you’re a new customer make sure you enter all the details we require. The ones marked with an * are obligatory.
After completing the form and clicking on the button “Sign in” you receive an email on the email address filled in on the registration form. This email contains a verification link. By clicking on the link in this email your registration on Dutchfootage.com is completed.
What will you do with my personal data?
Nothing: this data is only needed for our administration concerning sold images. In case you wish to receive updates concerning Dutchfootage.com you can let us know by ticking the box in the registration form.
I have forgotten my password. What do I do now?
Don’t worry. Go to “Register/Sign In” and click on “Forgot your password?” Fill in the email address you’re using and we’ll send you your password by email.
I’m having difficulty singing in. What’s wrong?
In case you’re having difficulty signing in, make sure to check if:
- Your username is spelled correctly, and you've correctly entered your password.
- The caps lock is off (both username and password are case-sensitive).
- Your browser is set to accept cookies

What is ‘My clipbin’?
The functionality “My clipbin” offers you the possibility to collect and sort the images that you have found on Dutchfootage.com.
Can I make several clipbins with different subjects?
Yes, you can. However, the first clipbin is without having to register yourself on Dutchfootage.com; to be able to create a second, third, etc. clipbin you need to register. After completing the registration you can create as many clipbins as you like for as many subjects as you like.
Can I place a clipbin in total in a shopping cart in one time?
Yes, you can. However, you still have to specify per image for what purpose you wish to use it and what the broadcasting area needs to be.
How to buy the footage
Can I buy the footage on Dutchfootage.com permanently?
No, you can’t. You purchase a license to be able to use the for the specified license type and license area. The rights to the footage will always belong to either the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision or a third party.
How do I purchase a license to be able to use the footage of my choice?
When you find an image you would like to use you can purchase a license for the usage of a high-res file of this image in the desired license type and area.
What kind of license types and areas do you specify?
License types are: Broadcast ,Advertising, Corporate, New Media/Web.
License areas are: National, worldwide.
In case you wish to use the footage you found for a different kind of usage please contact our Customer Service Department by calling + 31 35 677 8035 of mail to sales@beeldengeluid.nl.
What defines the price of the image?
The price of the license to use the image is defined by license type and area.
For how long a period can I use the image after purchasing the license?
The license is valid for 1 year, with the exception of purchasing a license for Broadcast/Worldwide. In this case you can use the image for 10 years.
Can I purchase several licenses at the same time?
Yes, you can. Make sure you have defined per image what the desired license type and area is.
How do I pay for the images?
After having selected the desired license type(s) and area(s) you can click on “Order”. In case you’re signed in you will be redirected to our internet register.
You can pay for the licenses by using iDeal (for Dutch customers only), or by credit card (Mastercard and VISA).
After having paid how do I receive the high-res files?
If you have chosen to pay the licenses by iDeal or credit card and we have received you’re payment correctly, you will receive an email containing a link to the location on the website where you can download your purchased image.
I don’t want to pay by iDeal or credit card. Do you have other options?
Yes, but…
In case you don’t wish to pay online but by invoice we are forced to add an additional amount of € 30,- to your bill concerning the extra administrative costs we have to make to process your request in this manner.
Also it will not be possible to download the files online after payment by invoice. A different way or delivery will be discussed with you by an employee of our Customer Service. There is a possibility that this will amount to extra costs as well.
Receiving purchased items
After having paid for the license(s) how do I receive the file(s)?
You will receive an email containing a link to the location on Dutchfootage.com from where you can download the files.
Will the purchased files still be downloadable after a longer period?
We have secured our website in a way that you can only download the files for short period of time. Make sure when you have completed your purchase to download the files as soon as possible.
